Sustainable Local Government Finances
Through the Learning Project on Sustainable Local Government Finances, SDC wants to promote learning from international and own practice on how to best support local governments in order to improve their capacities and financial endowment which enhances their room for maneuvering and action. The LP elaborated a concept paper on international practices regarding the subject. Based on this concept, eight case studies reflecting SDC practices were developed in Bolivia, Central America, Mozambique, Mali, Serbia, Albania, Madagascar and Burkina Faso. A process of peer revision of case studies took place once the case studies were finalised. This work concluded in the elaboration of synthesis of international practice and SDC experiences and was followed by an E-discussion on focused questions about the main findings of the synthesis paper. The synthesis paper is transformed into a LearnBook.
